Do you take convention commissions?
2018 CONVENTION LIST:
I usually begin a Pre-Show Commission List for a convention about a month before a convention. Usually only take it from people who will be attending that particular show.
About a month before the particular convention you are planning to attend, send me an email titled (Insert name of convention) SKETCH COMMISSION, through my contact link at www.shomurase.com or to sho at shomurase dot com (my usual web contact) letting me know what you have in mind.
I will choose my favorite characters from your requests first and the others will go in first come first serve basis until my list is filled. My list fills very fast, so the sooner the better. More chances of getting in there :)
I only take three types of requests:
-Bust up 11x14 Marker sketch (Convention only)

-Full body or thigh up 14x17 Marker sketch, couple of samples here are

-Full body or thigh up 13x19 Finished Acrylic or Ink brush. Most of the finished heroines I post on social media tend to be of this approx size. The difference between a marker sketch and a finished acrylic or ink piece is very noticeable in person. The 13x19 look more like a painting, than a sketch, not to mention the size difference. I may have small originals at the show you can choose from, but I don't take pre con requests for anything smaller.
They are usually in two colors. Black + 1 and they do not have a gradient. Gradient originals are reserved for very large paintings and murals only. You can however receive the scanned + digitally colored print along with the original, if yours will be made a print.
If you want your sketch in your SKETCHBOOK, I only do bust up sketches and I won't be able to do many as I won't have your sketchbook until I'm at the Convention. Please include the sketchbook size when you contact me before the convention and I ‘ll add you to my list.
I’m not taking Blank Cover Pre-Show requests, I will decide at the show if I’m going to be able to do any there...but I am happy to hear from you, please feel free to send me an email with your suggestions, if I like it, and I happen to have that cover at hand I may do them myself anyways, as I may have some pre done for the show.
Do you take commissions outside of the convention?
I am very happy for all your support and would like to take them all and make them as fast as humanly possible, but I also have a lot of work I m doing regularly, and I have my health to take care of, lol
I have a long list going, I am chipping away at it, but is slow...To give you an idea, I have commission orders from over a year ago that I still have not gotten to...yes is slow... don't worry, I will get to it, but, it's going to take a while. It could be a month or a year.
Your best bet is a pre con commission, but if you still want to be on the list, please feel free to email me with the same info and subject/header, as above, but I will have to ask you to be patient, it may take me awhile to get to yours. Same as with the other commissions, if I love your chosen character, I may get to her sooner, pick wisely ( Look at my work...hint,hint...) ;)

Statue/T shirt/ etc…All general merchandise questions
Questions regarding official company merchandise such as the DCCollectibles figures, the Warner Bros Justice League Movie merchandise or The Wonderground Disney pieces etc etc...are best to direct them to the respective companies.
They may have my work on them but I have no control over how they choose to sell their items and most often I don’t have much more info than you. Unless the particular item is being sold at my online shop www.shomurase.com you may want to contact the official seller/distributor for questions, it might help them to best understand what you may be looking for, and they may listen to you. DO YOU DO quick sketches?
I really really wish I could do them for everyone who is very kindly supporting me. Mail them for you. You more than deserve it just for following my work. I really mean it, there are so many awesome talented artists out there you can follow, I am humbled and very grateful you chose to support my work.
I am very very grateful for your support, but in reality I receive so many requests, I would have no time to work if I was to do one for everyone... then I would not be able to pay my expensive organic vegan food and I ‘ll be very grumpy, not to mention I won’t have any time left to work on my next book, then I ‘ll be a grumpy and depressed hungry monster... LOL.
Please don’t email me for a quick small sketch or similar. I may not be able to respond to your email. I receive quite a few emails and messages daily. I try to respond to every one individually but it takes me a while, and sometimes some fall through the cracks...Is best to follow any of my social media accounts (Scroll down for links to them) for info on where I may be doing a signing or similar. I am more than happy to do quick sketches at my signings, and best of all, they are usually for free. (Yes, free original sketches :) (Yey!)
Otherwise I do not do those... If you see my name up for a signing event at any convention, come by. If the specific company/publisher allows me to do so, I will happily sketch for you a quick one. Thank you for understanding.
